Bicycling and hiking

The surroundings of Sint Maarten are perfect for walking or biking. You can walk to your heart's content here, and there are many beautiful bike routes through the North Holland dune reserve. It is wonderful here in the spring because Sint Maarten is surrounded by colorful flower fields. Don't forget to ride your bike to visit the seaside town of Bergen or the cozy shopping town of Schagen. For example, you can visit the beautiful weekly market that takes place every Thursday. There are also many great places to eat and drink throughout the year. Schagen also has many fun shops and is a great place to go shopping in the quaint little streets.

Sint Maartenszee

Sint Maarten is quietly located four kilometers from the dunes and the beautiful beach of Sint Maartenszee. This beach is the best hidden part of the beach and is therefore perhaps the nicest family beach in the Netherlands! The atmosphere here is relaxed and very friendly on this beautiful, child-friendly stretch of coast. While you enjoy the ultimate beach day, the children have plenty of space to play and splash around.

UNESCO Westfriese Omringdijk

The village of Sint Maarten is located at the foot of the North Holland polder land. This monument is no less than 126 kilometers long and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the 16th century, this monument was made with diligent work by West Frisian farmers with the aim of protecting people and animals from the salty water. Nowadays it is the ideal place for cycling or walking.
